Home help/Nursing homes/Care homes for the elderly
Mark has an enthusiastic and passionate interest in maintaining mobility for the elderly, with osteopathy, movement (exercise), and massage. The key for elderly patients who have lost confidence, is to give the patient small but measurable goals, this may help build their confidence again. With the knowledge that mark has with the aging process, the patient will be under good professional care.
The Next step
Initial consultation current and past medical history, examination active (what the patient is able to do) and passive ( movements that mark does whilst the patient is relaxed) then a management plan for the patient is agreed by both parties or guardian.
Locations for treatments
The patient’s home/ nursing homes/care homes or anywhere where a patient is living.
Patients that may be helped are patients living with
- A stroke
- Arthritis, Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Ankylosing Spondylitis
- Patients that are in homes with minimal exposure to exercise (movement)
- Patients who have lost confidence through a fall
- Multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s
Here are some conditions, if you are unsure give mark a call to discuss if he can be of help.
Stability, coordination, strength, flexibility can be improved upon at any age! There are caveats to being able to improve, and that is a willingness of the patient, the condition of the patient, however, the skills that mark utilises can encourage and support the patient, and passive movements for bed ridden patients are also beneficial.
Everybody benefits from moving the body, by themselves or with the security of assistance.
